Foundation Center

Our Council Bluffs Public Library has a subscription to Foundation Center.org. This tool allows you research and filter through all 166,000 U.S. Foundations. A great way to learn what foundations are funding your type of project. It’s the smartest, fastest way to win more funding. You need to be using the CBPL wifi or one of their computers to access the FC Database.

Dodge Trust Grant

The purpose of the Dodge Trust is to provide funding to charitable organizations or agencies that provide services to the residents of Council Bluffs. Since its inception in 1989 when the City received 1/3 of the residuary estate of General Grenville Dodge, the Board has overseen the Trust’s assets grow from $900,000.00 to in excess of $2.8 million and has distributed in excess of $2 million. The Board intends to distribute approximately $74,000 this year (2019/2020).

Pottawattamie County Community Foundation - Community Grants

Pottawattamie County Community Foundation (PCCF) is a partnership of rural and urban citizens dedicated to improving the lives of all residents by supporting and stimulating donor-driven philanthropy. Community Grants are available to organizations whose innovative and meaningful work align with the Pottawattamie County Community Foundation’s mission to improve the lives of all county residents.

TS Bank Community Reinvestment

TS BANK gives back by reinvesting profits through a number of channels. TS Bank is dedicated to community prosperity and reinvests 10% of their net income back to the community through outreach, event sponsorships, grants, giving, and employee volunteerism. –

The fund for Omaha (including Pottawattamie County)

The Fund for Omaha is a grant program funded by the Omaha Community Foundation, along with local philanthropists, as a strategic investment in the following areas: Arts & Culture, NeighborhoodsEconomic Opportunity, Health, Transportation, and Vibrant CommunitiesWe support local nonprofits that are working to ensure equitable access to opportunity for people throughout our community.

First National Bank Grants

First National Bank is committed to reaching our community goals but cannot do so alone. That’s why they partner with community organizations who are dedicated to improving one or more of our key focus areas by providing investments in the form of donations, sponsorships, community development grants, financial education, and volunteerism. Focus areas include: Affordable Housing, Neighborhood Stability, Entrepreneurship, Small Business Development, Education, Workforce Development.

Home Depot Community Impact Grants

The Foundation offers grant awards up to $5,000 to 501(c)(3) designated organizations (recognized and in good standing with the IRS for a minimum of one year) and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the community. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials or services and are required to be completed within six months of approval date.

AARP Livable Communities

The AARP Community Challenge provides small grants to fund “quick-action” projects that can help communities become more livable for people of all ages. Applications are being accepted for projects to improve housing, transportation, public space, technology (“smart cities”), civic engagement and more.

Wellmark Foundation Match Grants

The Wellmark Foundation supports nonprofit organizations or community groups that develop, implement, and enhance local wellness and prevention projects with a focus on long-term sustainability.

Conagra Brand Foundation

Through our community impact grant program, the Conagra Brands Foundation continues to build upon our rich heritage of investing in the communities where Conagra Brands operates. We partner with respected community-based nonprofits that provide highly effective programs to transform people’s lives within our core areas of focus which include: food access, nutrition education, cooking skills, healthy and active lifestyles and select urban agricultural programs that have a clear community focus and provide entrepreneurial skills to help individuals participate in the farm-to-fork economy.

Amplify Arts

Amplify’s Artist Grants program reiterates our mission to make Omaha a great place for artists to live, work, and thrive. Awarded to individual artists, duos, and collectives to support their practice or realize a public project, grant money contributes to the dynamic growth of a community rich in disciplinary and cultural diversity. Awards become catalysts for artists at various stages in their careers to explore new ideas and establish more robust, critical practices.

Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs

Each year, the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs invests grant funding into projects, organizations and communities that enhance quality of life in Iowa through arts, history and culture.

Iowa Economic Development

Enhance Iowa provides grant funds to assist projects that provide recreational, cultural, entertainment and educational attractions, as well as sports tourism. The funds help communities create transformational projects that enhance the vitality of a region and the state overall.

Iowa DNR REAP Grants

REAP stands for Resource Enhancement and Protection. It is a program in the State of Iowa that invests in, as its name implies, the enhancement and protection of the state’s natural and cultural resources.
