This has been a big year for CreekTop Gardens! We had 30 adult gardeners and more than 120 student gardeners growing and utilizing the plots throughout the season.
We also had nine amazing volunteer groups give their time to the garden over the season. They were able to repair garden beds, trim the orchard, mulch the walkway between garden beds, paint the picnic tables and weed many of the plots. When you add up the effort among all the volunteer groups, there was a total of 386.5 volunteer hours given in the 2019 season.
Along with the many hours donated, we’ve had more than $500 in materials donated for garden improvements from Home Depot Council Bluffs. Along with compost and mulch donated from the Council Bluffs Recycling Center.
The garden has had many improvements in 2019 and our staff recently applied for two grants to help us make even more improvements at CreekTop Gardens in the future. It was great seeing so many plants growing in the garden this season! Plot applications for the 2020 Season will open up after the first of the year.
