There was such an amazing response to our call for demolition volunteers on our first property on 3rd Ave – we decided to keep going for our home on Bluff St. These properties are part of our Housing Revitalization Program. A program focused on improving owner occupied housing in Council Bluffs. The 712 Initiative purchases homes that are in need of substantial improvements, makes the necessary improvements and then lists the completed product on the market for owner occupied housing. With the ultimate goal to improve our neighborhoods and housing.
Many of these renovations far exceed market value, but it is still more cost effective than new construction. In order to save thousands on demolition, we are looking for volunteers for light demolition work. It is a great volunteer opportunity for families and small groups while social distancing.
