Once you have done your part to clean-up, we ask that you leave trash bags on the side of the road next to a light pole or utility pole. The Council Bluffs Recycling Center will pick up the trash bags and weigh them. Once weighed, we will post the impact you have made on our website and on social media! Below are litter removal safety instructions for your review.

Clean Sweep is a collective volunteer effort to clean up streets in the community. Volunteers can register and choose sections of the community for a Council Bluffs-wide spring cleaning!

Since we began tracking in 2012, this event has resulted in more than 25,500 pounds of trash cleaned up. Imagine how much it’s been since this event was created in 1971! Clean Sweep is a great way to help in the beautification of the community each year.
