COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA, January 21, 2019– Registration just opened for the 6th Annual Shamrock Shuffle. Come out and join the fun Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The run will begin at 10 a.m. with a newly added street party on the 100 Block to follow. Local band, the Polka Police, will be performing after the participants cross the finish line.

Also new for 2019 is an outdoor beer garden and a themed photo booth. Participating locations on the 100 Block will have food and drink specials during the event.

Another addition to this year is having the Shamrock Shuffle be professionally timed by Precision Race Results, a company that has timed the Lincoln Marathon, Omaha Corporate Cup and many other metro events.

“This addition allows us to give the avid runner a competitive outlet without taking anything away from the fun everyone expects to have at the Shamrock Shuffle,” said Jeff Snow, Director of Programming and Events at The 712 Initiative.

Participants are encouraged to dress as crazy as they dare in green attire to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Runners that beat the leprechaun to the finish line will earn a free beverage.

The 2018 Shamrock Shuffle brought nearly 400 participants out to the 100 Block. This year, with the addition of live music, a photo booth, a beer garden, beverage backpacks and outdoor food, The 712 Initiative expects to have another great turn out.

Snow said, “We are excited to provide even more opportunities for fun to an already highly anticipated event in Council Bluffs.”

Registration fee is $30 for adults, $20 for those 11-18 and $5 for 10 and under. Adult registration includes a t-shirt.
